Purchasing Specialist (Direct)

Job Description

Work with internal stakeholders to ensure that all requirements are timely met in terms of work plans, quality, price and delivery
Negotiate contracts, improved prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business saving utilizing negotiation and Purchasing best practice tools and methods
Conduct contract/PO, ensure accuracy of Goods/services delivery, proceed to ensure timely payment process for the Supplier
Ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials and communicate any supply problems which may pose a risk or impact on business operations
Conduct Vendor/Supplier Evaluation; Carry out initial site visits to build greater understanding of supplier capabilities & refine supplier listing
Explore alternative sources for goods, service, materials
Conduct market survey; Sourcing and Identifying suppliers of goods and services
Maintain and update supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, product ranges, etc.
Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned

Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
Proven experience working as a procurement specialist in the same area required
Experience in customs clearance would be preferred
Materials & packaging background with substantial professional experience (>3 yrs.) in Purchasing/ Buyer/ Sourcing
Preferred candidates have experience in procuring of raw materials, packaging, chemical, industrial
Good command of PC skills, to include advanced Excel skills
Experience with ERP (SAP) would be preferred
Good knowledge of the industry and market conditions
Good written and verbal communication skills
Good negotiation and problem-solving skills
